It looks like a simple shoebox, a simple trinket, a simple gesture to children halfway across the world. But it's so much more: it's His love put into practice! God has given us an incredible command, "love your neighbor as yourself." But we often don't realize the implications of such a far-reaching, all-encompassing commandment. If you were hungry, you'd prepare food to nourish your body. If your clothes were tattered, you'd buy new whatever you needed to stay warm. If you needed something from the store, you'd slide your check card across the counter at Wal-Mart.
The Hearts of Love ministry is all about servanthood. We work with Samaritan's Purse throughout the year to send carefully prepared shoeboxes filled with clothes, school supplies and other essentials around the world to provide children in other countries with many of the things they need. Samaritan's Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ.
